EMR Licence Renewal

Renewal opens October 1, 2025
Deadline: December 1

  • All members must submit the Licence Renewal form in your Member Account
  • Renew as Practicing ($530) or Non-Practicing ($50) (more info on Non-Practicing). $90 for Personal Liability Insurance will also be added to each renewal
  • Personal Liability Insurance from SCoP-approved insurer is required for all Practicing and Non-Practicing licences. Apply for 2026 insurance > 
  • Late fees are $275. All licences not renewed by December 1 are subject to late fees, including Practicing and Non-Practicing renewals
  • Upload supporting documents for requirements; see chart below
  • Members unable to meet requirements can still renew. The form will give you a Restricted licence, to allow 6 months to meet requirements and does not affect how you work. Cost: $100 + practicing fee. (more info on Restricted licences)
  • Educational uploads not required to renew as Non-Practicing
  • Fees are paid by credit card on last page of form. Choose e-transfer option for e-transfer, money order, or employer cheque (employers must request an invoice from SCoP)

View or update your requirements in your Member Account at any time! Licence Renewal form will not submit until all fields are complete, but you can leave and your work is saved for later.

  • EMR Skills Reporting form - required to report skills
    • Assessed every 2 years: in 2024 or 2025
      • by an assessor who is an instructor in one of the listed programs on the Skills Reporting form, and has expertise in the area with the skill within their scope of practice
    • Skills Reporting form must be signed by assessor. No cards or certificates.
    • Members may not assess their own skills
    • Not required for new graduates for 2 years following graduation
      • Exception: all new members through Labour Mobility must assess skills at first licence renewal
    Medications Self-Review
    • Must be reviewed every 2 years, in 2024 or 2025
    • Must follow guidelines in Core Training Requirements for Medication Self-Review
    • No upload required. Input date of self-review
    • Please keep proof of review in case of audit.
    • Not required for new graduates for 2 years following graduation
      • Exception: all new members through Labour Mobility require a med review at first licence renewal
    CE

    20 Continuing Education (CE) credits

    • 20 CE credits are required (including 2 for mental health, and 10 from NOCP areas 4, 5, 6)
    • Credits must be completed in 2025
    • If your Course/Program is not listed in the dropdown, choose either Unlisted Course or Unlisted Mental Health Course and enter the number of credits
    • New graduates do not have to submit CE credits at their first renewal (if the credits are not there, choose New Graduate CME in dropdown and upload EMR certificate)
      • Exception: new graduates who are members through Labour Mobility must submit credits at first licence renewal
    • Current students may use school as CE once either in school or the year following
    • New members registered after October 1 are not required to do CE to renew their licence

    Audits revealing falsified information will be reported to the Professional Conduct Committee. Members may not assess their own skills.

    Payment

    Payment must arrive at the SCoP office by December 1 or you will be subject to late fees. This includes cheques from employers.

    Practicing licence: $530 +$90 for liability insurance
    Non-Practicing: $50 + $90 for liability insurance

    Late fees are $275.  All licences not renewed by December 1 are subject to late fees, including Non-Practicing licences.

    If you do not plan to work or volunteer as a paramedic in the immediate future but would like to keep your licence, a non-practicing licence is $50 +$90 for liability insurance. When you are ready to return to work, you will pay a $50 change of status fee plus the practicing fee which is prorated:

    Practicing Licence Fee, prior to April 1: $530
    75% on April 1: $397.50
    50% on July 1: $265
    25% on October 1: $132.50

    If you are unable to fulfill some of your educational requirements, add a restriction to your licence for $100. More info >

    If you are paying by credit card online, the payment screen is displayed at the end. If paying by e-transfer, send payment in the correct amount to payments@collegeofparamedics.sk.ca.

    Licence and receipts

    Once your renewal has been approved, you can download and print your new licence from the Licence Certificate tab of your Member Account, and your information will be updated on the Member Registry. Plastic cards and paper licences have been discontinued.
