Reinstatement
- Applicants previously licensed in Saskatchewan can become re-licensed through Reinstatement
- To Reinstate, must have held a practicing licence in Saskatchewan in the past 2 years
- If between 2 and 5 years ago, refresher course required
- Over 5 years, program must be retaken
- Being licensed in another province or jurisdiction during this time removes these limits
- Available licence levels are Emergency Medical Responder (EMR), Primary Care Paramedic (PCP), Advanced Care Paramedic (ACP), and Critical Care Paramedic (CCP)
- Reinstatement candidates who have never passed a licensing exam can apply for a Practicing licence and a Restriction, and work under direct supervision until an exam has been successfully completed
- Applicable Fees:
- Non-refundable Reinstatement fee: $275
- Practicing licence fee: $520. Reduces by 25% each quarter
- Professional liability insurance: Before August 1: $90. After August 1: $45
- Restricted licence (optional): $100 + practicing fee and application fee
Pay by Visa or Mastercard when applying online. You may also pay by money order, certified cheque, employer cheque, or e-transfer (to payments@collegeofparamedics.sk.ca). No personal cheques.
How to Apply:
- Call SCoP to confirm your eligibility and we’ll email you the Reinstatement Form
- Email the Reinstatement Form back to SCoP with the following attachments:
- Criminal record check (VSQ is not required) completed by a police officer within the past 6 months
- If unable to obtain a local criminal record check, Sterling Backcheck is approved
- Transcript, for PCP, ACP and CCP only, including Community Paramedic Endorsement
- Professional Liability insurance certificate from the SCoP-approved insurer. Liability insurance instructions >
- Criminal record check (VSQ is not required) completed by a police officer within the past 6 months
- Licensed in another province / Labour Mobility: complete the top portion of this Labour Mobility form (pdf) and email it to each Canadian regulatory agency where you are currently or previously licensed. They will complete the form and mail the original directly to SCoP

- Mandatory Certificates – upload the following certificates
- All certificates must be current and not expired
- Ensure your CPR certification is for BLS (Basic Life Support) and from Canadian Red Cross, St. John Ambulance, or Heart & Stroke Foundation of Canada
- Professional Liability Insurance (NEW) – All SCoP members are required to hold personal professional liability insurance. Upload your SCoP-approved insurance certificate to the Mandatory Certificates section. Professional Liability Insurance application >

- Have your Skills assessed and report them using the Skills Reporting form >

- Complete 20 Continuing Medical Education (CE) credits, which include 2 for mental health. More CE info >

- As part of your application, you will be required to sign a declaration that you understand the Saskatchewan Legislation framework and protocols for your scope of practice based on reading the following:
- SCoP Code of Professional Conduct and Standards of Practice
- The Paramedic Act of Saskatchewan
- Regulatory Bylaws
- Administrative Bylaws – under revision; coming soon
- Protocol Manual for your scope
- Licence Renewal Requirements
- Please ensure that you have read and understand these documents before applying

Payment of Fees
After we process your Reinstatement form, you can pay your fees by credit card in the Invoices & Receipts area of your Member Account, or e-transfer the correct amount to payments@collegeofparamedics.sk.ca
Your Licence
When you are approved, your information will be updated on the Online Registry, and your Member Licence and Wallet Card will be available from your Member Account.
Licences expire on December 31 but all licences must be renewed by December 1. Late fees of $275 are applied on December 2.
