Licence Renewal – Documentation Notice

Licence Renewal – Documentation Notice

The Education Committee announced in 2021 that a mandatory 5 credit course in documentation would be required for the 2023 licence renewal. Due to significant and unforeseen issues with the technology required to host the course, it is not feasible to make this course available in time for the 2023 licence renewal.

Following the recommendation put forward by the Education Committee, Council has approved a one-time waiver of 5 CME credits that were to be issued from the documentation course for the 2023 renewal.

Members will be required to complete continuing education courses for 15 credits (which includes 5 for mental health) for their 2023 licence renewal.

To claim your 5-credit waiver:

  • on the CME page of your licence renewal form, click + Add Activity, choose Courses/Programs, choose 2023 Documentation Waiver, choose any date, and upload anything so that you can click Save & Back.

Other renewal requirements such as the medication review declaration, mandatory certifications, and skill evaluations are still required if their renewal is due for the individual member.

Any members who were successful in completing the documentation course before the crash will be able to submit their certificate for the 2024 renewal.

The documentation course is anticipated to be available for the membership for 2024 renewal. Communication will be provided prior to October 31, 2022.
